Bonding glass with glass

If you broke your glass favorite, or are interested in crafts in glass, glass bonding glass is easy if you have the right tools. Read labels carefully to find the glue to your project: glue for transparent glass is specific for bonding glass to glass. Always wear gloves when working with glass and make sure you’re in a well-ventilated area.

Instructions

  1. Clean the pieces of glass with water and dry them completely. Do not use soap, as it can leave a residue.
  2. Both clean surface with nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol. However, this may not be necessary, depending on the brand of glue for glass you are using.
  3. Dry adjusts the two pieces of glass to be sure a snug fit.
  4. Glue applied to transparent glass on one of the pieces of glass using one drop per square inch (2.54 cm2) glass.
  5. Press the pieces of the cup and hold them for 60 seconds or until the glue to set. Some adhesives require sunlight to settle. In this case, the sun exposes the glass for 30 seconds to two minutes, depending on how it is cloudy and light intensity.
  6. Clean excess glue with mineral spirits.
  7. Let the glass repaired at least an hour to settle, but overnight is best.
