How to replace the glass of a car yourself?

Remove and install auto glass by yourself can be an easy job. Before installation make sure you have all the necessary tools and materials and even an extra pair of hands to help you that the process of replacement is given in a simpler way. Invest in the appropriate sealer, such as urethane sealant to the new window locked. Also, you should always use safety equipment while working with glass.

Instructions

  1. Put on safety glasses and work gloves.
  2. Keeping a steady pace, cut around the mold inside the perimeter of the window with the jig.
  3. Get in the car. Tap the glass and gently tap the perimeter to loosen the glue. When glass is loose, remove it carefully by hand. Ask your assistant to take the glass from the outside to prevent breakage.
  4. Clean the insulating windscreen with mild to remove any sticky residue that has accumulated on the tape soap.
  5. Seal glass once it is in place. Uses a caulking gun, a thin layer extends urethane sealer along all internal windscreen frames. With the help of your assistant, lift the new glass into the insulation. Apply pressure in the upper and lower windshield for a moment to create a tight seal.
  6. Allow the urethane sealant to stand for 24 hours.
