How to repair the rear windshield of a Jeep Cherokee

Replacing the glass rear window of a Jeep Cherokee in case of fracture or renewal can be done with a little patience. The glass in the preceding Cherokee SUVs for 1996 was installed with a rubber seal that makes change easy, even for someone who has never done. You can buy a glass for your Cherokee in a cellar scrap cars or in a workshop where repair windshield. If you buy it at a workshop possibly new glass but you do not install or will give guarantee in case of fracture.

Instructions

  1. Open the rear door of the Jeep Cherokee and remove the trim panel. The panel is attached to the hatch with plastic clamps around the edges. You can remove the rod with glue that can be a very useful and rigid tool. Remove the panel of the Jeep from the trunk and set it aside.
  2. Close the door and locate the latch holding down the rear windshield wiper. Hitch is a small piece of flat metal and is right where wipers. Use the screwdriver to disengage the wipers. Now remove all wiper system.
  3. Go to the area of the trunk of the Jeep and insert a screwdriver or similar tool into the windshield rubber stamp making a lever and pulling up the rear door. Continue on until all pulling rubber stamp window. Then gently push the glass until the glass is lost .Carefully remove the glass from the outside of the Jeep.
  4. Remove all rubber stamp old glass and adheres the new rubber in the new glass. Wrap a long piece of nylon rope around the seal, right in the strait where the seal assembly attaches to the trunk.
  5. Rubber seal adheres to the trunk with soap and water to help lubricate and paste, so it will be easier to install. Place your right glass on windshield opening.
  6. Nylon rope out slowly press the rubber seal to secure it while someone else holds the glass by the outside for pressure. Continue around the window until all the label adheres to the edge of the trunk and is safe.
  7. Click to palm the outside of the windshield to help glue all points of the gum so that there is no piece lost.
  8. Reinstall the wiper glass cleaner directly on the pressing and pushing the latch lock with the screwdriver. Open the door and reinstall the plastic panel in the trunk. Align the plastic clips with holes in the trunk and push them to secure them.
  9. Close the trunk and check the windshield one last time to make sure they are not bent corners and the glass is glued properly.
